Meghan Amoroso

Based in Mount Gambier, Meghan Amoroso is a multidisciplinary artist and educator whose work explores identity, memory, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. She blends traditional art techniques with overlooked craft materials to create symbolic works that blur the line between fine art and the domestic.

Her creative practice is deeply connected to community and place. Meghan presented her first solo exhibition, Sideshow Alley (2024) at Gallery 54, and curated DOG. The Exhibition (2023)—a two-part project featuring a gallery show at Confession Coffee House and a permanent installation at Hastings Cunningham Reserve Dog Park. She also collaborated with students and fellow artists on the Commerce Arcade mural in central Mount Gambier. Alongside her own making, Meghan teaches Visual Arts at Tenison Woods College, where she brings her creative practice into the classroom to inspire and support young artists.

As part of the Place + Space project, Meghan is continuing her exploration of domestic life and community identity—this time through the lens of small ephemera and discarded objects. Her goal is to capture an informal snapshot of the people who make up the region, through the humble things they leave behind.
